About Anew PR Nashville TN
the man behind anew pr

Chris Tatum didn't just dream of starting a new PR company. He dreamt of reinventing Public Relations. He accomplished both when he launched anew pr. But before he launched it he spent years in the broadcast industry both as a radio personality and television news anchor and reporter. During his broadcasting career, Chris established exceptional and extensive media contacts that now help him get his clients' message to people in some of the biggest television, radio and print markets in the country. Combine that with his incredible writing ability and penchant for coming up with imaginative and original PR concepts and you can easily see why:

  • In May 2009, when The United Methodist Church wanted people around the world to RETHINK CHURCH, it hired Chris Tatum to help spread its new, innovative message.
  • And when The United Methodists sought to show people the thousands of “doors” through which they could use their talents to better the world, they again called on Chris Tatum.
  • The Terri Schiavo Foundation in St. Petersburg, Florida hired Chris and anew pr to promote and publicize a national fundraising event to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Terri’s death.
  • The President of The Nashville Agency, one of anew pr’s longest standing clients, says of Chris Tatum; “Recently our agency hired him to write a proposal for a TV reality show. His finished product was so compelling and convincing, within days several well-known cable networks were clamoring for the rights to the show.”

The Nashville Agency even recently hired Chris to ghost write a book for one of its literary clients.

Chris launched anew pr while still holding down a full-time reporter job at Nashville's highly acclaimed WSMV TV. This is Chris' second stint in America's Music City. He considers Nashville his adopted hometown.

Chris' broadcasting career began in 1985 at a small town radio station in Northeast Mississippi, where he grew up. He left radio for a while, to serve a 7 year hitch in the Navy, working in military intelligence. Since returning to broadcasting in 1993, he has worked at several radio stations in Mississippi, and Tennessee, including world-famous WSM Radio, best known for its flagship program, the Grand Ole Opry. It was also in Tennessee, were Chris made the transition to television news, first, anchoring at a small cable news station in Murfreesboro, then working at Nashville's NBC station, WSMV, in an off-air role.

In 2000, Chris accepted a reporter job at Huntsville, Alabama's WAAY TV. A year later he moved to Birmingham's ABC 33/40.

Chris' unique reporting style has won him an assortment of awards including the Associated Press' Honor for Best Feature Story in 2005. The Birmingham Association of Black Journalists honored Chris two years in a row for his exceptional storytelling skills even when faced with a tight deadline. He was instrumental in helping ABC 33/40 earn the Associated Press' prestigious distinction of "Alabama's Best Overall News Operation" four of the five years he worked there.

Chris is an avid supporter of several children's charities and literacy programs.
When he is not working, which is rare, Chris loves to read and play with his cats, Vosot and Callie.

As a client of anew pr, you don't just get Chris' creativity. You get his personal attention on every detail of your project.
